Jackets and coats are just essential all year round. Whether you need one for protection from the weather, an added layer of warmth or an element of your outfit, you’re always going to find yourself reaching for the staple styles listed below. These coats and jackets are going to get you through every occasion, climate and outfit imaginable! Every woman needs at least one…

Denim Jacket

Whether you’re looking for a classic, close-fitting worker’s style denim jacket or you prefer the trendy, oversized aesthetic, you need one of these in your wardrobe. Denim is the perfect material to style with as it blends with legitimately everything, and its washed tone is incredibly neutral. Look for a dark indigo wash denim jacket in a thick, sturdy cotton and elastane blend to add to all your casual-chic outfits. Style with sundresses, chunky white sneakers, maxi dresses and even your jeans for a cheeky double denim look.

Leather Jacket

Leather jackets have been an essential favourite for almost one hundred years! They are protective, cool and amazingly versatile, meaning if you don’t have one already then, it’s about time you found yourself on! Look for a buttery soft lamb, calf or cow’s leather in tan, burgundy or classic black. You’ll find biker, bomber and blazer cuts, however, a black leather biker jacket with silver hardware really is the classic look. Rock with knitwear during winter or use it to toughen up your favourite floral dress.

Coat-igan

A coat-igan is the blend between a coat and a cardigan, otherwise known as the comfiest piece of outerwear in existence! This cuddly coat style is great for dry days that have a real chill to them, or for when you just want to feel super warm and cosy at your desk. Search for this style in refined grey marl and style with black leather pants and a cashmere turtleneck to dress it up or just throw on over jeans and a jumper for the perfect winter weekend vibe.

Tailored Blazer

You won’t get far without a sharply tailored blazer in your wardrobe! This piece is such a staple, even if you don’t work anywhere near an office! Layer over jeans and a tee, use it to add a touch of androgyny to your silky slip dress or pair with matching pants for an excellent office-appropriate outfit. Make sure your jacket fits you flawlessly, nips in at the waist and has sharp lines at the shoulders – when in doubt, refer to Grace Jones, the queen of the blazer, for a little inspo.

Trench Coat

A trench coat will always, always look chic! This one is great for rainy days or for when you want a thin protective layer that scores you some major style points. The classic beige trench with tortoise buttons in a loose fit will suit all aesthetics, shapes and heights. Throw on over casual outfits, dresses and suits to keep dry and fashionable all year round.

Maxi Coat

A belted wool maxi coat in camel, black or grey is your very best friend in those bitterly cold weeks of the year when you just don’t want to go outside. The more oversized the better here, don’t be afraid to buy up a couple of sizes for a touch of refined French chic.

Evening Jacket

A shining sequin-studded evening jacket will bring some life to your evening looks. Choose a neutral shimmer tone and layer over tee shirts, jeans, silk slip dresses, camis – really, whatever you like. This piece will add glam to even the drabbest of outfits.

With these women’s jackets and coats on your side, you’re sure to look outrageously stylish all year round.
